AHIA PRIVACY POLICY
The Australian Health Insurance Association
Limited (AHIA) is committed to respecting the privacy of your
information, and recognises the need for appropriate protection
and management of any personal information that you share
with us. Personal information is any information about an
identifiable individual.
This privacy policy is made available
to you in order to make you aware of how AHIA collects and
uses individual identifying information of visitors to AHIA's
website.
The information you provide helps
us provide more valuable information to you. It also enables
us to give you updates about our services.
We collect only information volunteered
by you, such as survey and feedback information, or site registrations,
and use such information for internal purposes only. AHIA
may also share such information with its health fund members
strictly for non-profit business purposes. AHIA does not sell
such information or provide it to any unaffiliated third parties.

Direct collection of personal
information
We collect personal information when such information is specifically
and knowingly provided from users during (i) survey or site
registration promotions and (ii) subscription registration
for sites or services requiring such registration information.
We may occasionally inform our users of health financing information
and other health related information that we believe our users
will find interesting. However, we will not provide your personal
information to a third party without your consent.
Choice
You will be given the option to choose whether you would like
to receive such mailing upon registration. You can also request,
at any time, that your information not be used for such purposes
by sending an email request to us at the address admin@ahia.org.au
Security
Wherever your personal information may be held within AHIA,
we intend to take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect
this personal information from unauthorised access or disclosure.
However, it is important to understand that no security system
can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot give an
absolute assurance that personal information will be secure
at all times.
Childrens' Privacy
No information should be submitted to the AHIA by children
16 years of age or under without their parent's or guardian's
consent. We do not monitor the age of our user audience.
Access/Accuracy
You may request access to personal information held by us
relative to yourself. We will respond to such requests within
a reasonable time. We will make a sincere effort to respond
in a timely manner to a users request to correct inaccuracies
in the personal information held by us. To request correction
of such inaccuracies, you may send updates and corrections
to admin@ahia.org.au
